INFUSION

Infusion CD fr Jamie St Clair
Jamie St Clair, singer, songwriter, – that’s me. This is my latest CD, released Fall 2011. My early influences were Crosby, STills and Nash – Deja Vu big time. This new CD, titled: INFUSION: the Prodigal Son Returns, is my take on the folk rock sound that combines East Indian instruments like the sarod (similar to slide guitar) and swarmandel (India harp). Some pieces have a back beat, some are ballads, most have provocative lyrics.

Acoustic and electric guitars by Jamie.  Drums and percussion by Varun Venkit, except “So Near Yet So Far”  percussion by Veetkam, and drum programming on “Do it Again” by Kit Walker. Produced by Jamie except “Do It Again” and “Heaven’s Gate” produced by Jamie and Kit Walker.

Thanks to my (3) mentors in the recording business:

  • Ashik Lynch, who introduced me to Logic Audio in 2003, encouraged me, and got me started recording my own stuff.
  • Kit Walker, who showed me how to clean up my act and what EQ means.
  • Arpita, whose advice on singing broke me out of the box I was in so I could sing my songs.

Special thanks to:
Derek Sivers (founder of CDBaby.com) for the encouragement, Anil Sethi (producer of All Along the Watchtower music video), Atmo Maneesh (camera on said video), Samya (actress and director’s assistant for said video). And Miten (of Deva Premal and Miten) whose encouragement meant a lot to me in general, and particularly his advice on the lyrics for “Let Go of Love.” It used to be called “Hang on to Love.”
